Yesterday was my sixteenth immunotherapy treatment. The whole family came with me this time. Michelle baked cupcakes as a thank you for all the work the nurses have been doing for me over the last year and we delivered them to the office before my appointment. There were many compliments given about the cupcakes by the end of the day. 🙂
When we first arrived and were delivering the cupcakes to the back office, one of the nurses saw us and, continuing from the “Lord and Lady” conversation(s) of past visits, asked “Is this Lady X?” with a big grin! 😀 After we dropped off the goodies, I went back and signed in and sat down with the family in the waiting area. There was a bit more of a wait than average this time around, apparently because it was a busier day and they only had one phlebotomist working instead of two or three.
Michelle went back with me for the lab work and treatment, but the kids had to stay out in the waiting area (rules are rules.) It was nice to have some time together and be able to talk mostly without interruption. 🙂 One of the staff came by while I was waiting for the IV to be started and she informed us that the scan that I had last time around had indeed come back clean. So that’s definitely something to be happy about. 🙂
After Treatment
After the treatment was finally finished mid-afternoon, we made our way to a restaurant a few miles away and met up with a friend who is attending a college in the city for a late lunch/early dinner. It was nice to be able to visit with them, even if it wasn’t for very long. We then started our journey back toward home, some napping, some staying awake… just to be clear, I was tired but I stayed awake, since I was the one driving, hehe! 😀
