We attended the wedding of a young couple at our church this evening. Michelle provided the cake and the cupcakes for the reception but the kids and myself also attended. The ceremony was very nice and the location was a new building in a remote area a good distance outside the city. Congratulations you two!

I went to my parents’ house for dinner after work today. It was nice to spend some time with them. I don’t get out of the city much these days, so it’s also nice to get away from the constant man-made sounds and sirens and just be out where it’s nice and quiet. The older I get, the more I miss quiet “country” living!

Michelle and the kids left to visit family out of state (another state this time), so I’ll be home alone again until next Monday. Due to mobility restrictions, there’s really not much for me to do other than go to work, come home and take care of any responsibilities at home, and then go to bed. Maybe watch something, but that’s not as fun all by myself… 🙁

Since I knew I’d be mostly immobile, I had intended to work from home this week, but unfortunately that didn’t work out as planned. This morning I couldn’t find a way to sit comfortably at the computer for more than a few minutes while elevating my leg. So, even though I didn’t really want to be out, I called in and asked for the week off so I could recover enough to hopefully return to work next week.

My family and I just spent the last week in South Carolina near Myrtle Beach with our church. The kids had a great time and Michelle and I enjoyed helping out and are grateful to have been provided the opportunity to be a part of the trip this year.
Unfortunately, during the trip the lab results came back that the mole on my shin was a Melanoma. So, we’ve been scheduled to meet with a surgeon to have the mole completely removed.
